I got a comment on my Mac Browser Benchmark asking for a memory comparison. So I did one. The test involved checking the memory, both virtual and real at startup and with six tabs open. The results were surprising. Firefox turned out to use the least memory. Next was Safari, followed by Opera and Chrome. Chrome uses the most memory because each tab is seen as a separate process. This means that if one tab crashes, the rest are left untouched. However, it also means that Chrome uses more memory than the other browsers. So there you have it, the amount of memory used by each browser compared. Thanks for the idea for a post, anonymous poster.
