What’s Apple doing with this 3cm touchscreen?

From the same source that revealed the white iPhone 4 faceplates and the unibody MacBook Pro enclosure, comes this little tidbit. Little being the key phrase. This is a 3cm (or 1.2 inch) touchscreen, with Apple’s name on it. You’ll also see the numbers 2009, which, if this is a date, means they’ve either been working on this for a while, or this rumor isn’t going anywhere. It could be used as a small display for a Mac, a back display for an iPod, the main screen for a touch screen shuffle, or anything else. The source doesn’t say much.
iPod refreshes often come after the summer, so keep your eyes peeled for more rumors before then.
