Apple Acquires Poly9: Mapping Software on the Way?

Poly 9 creates 3D mapping software that can run in a browser, similar to Google Earth. Apple has recently acquired the company. What could they be planning to do with it?
Well, Google has refused to port their free gps turn by turn app to the iPhone, and Apple may be looking to create one of their own.
Whatever the plans, they’re well under way. Many employees from Poly9 have been moved to Apple’s campus in Cupertino CA.
So could we see Apple maps in the future? Possibly. Who wants to bet it would be called “iMap”?
