Blackberries Banned in UAE

The UAE has decided to ban all Blackberry devices. Services will stop as of October 11th. Apparently this ban has been a while in the making, from when the UAE first asked RIM, creators of the Blackberry, to comply with restrictions placed on the devices and its users. The main issue? RIM won’t run their traffic through the regulated servers.
It’s assumed that this means that the UAE had hoped to censor content on Blackberries, but RIM wouldn’t comply with their request. Thus, just as Google was banned from China, Blackberries were banned from the UAE.
