Apple Patents iMac Touch Interface

Multitouch has been creeping it’s way into Mac OS for a few years now. It only makes sense that a touch screen Mac would be the next step. These patents show how Apple would make an iMac that can be used traditionally, or with a touch screen. The device could use accelerometers to tell how the device is positioned, use sensors located in the hinge, or see how the user is holding the device.

Mac OS could be updated to include these new features relatively soon. And with the introduction of the Magic Trackpad, Apple has ensured that all of their most recent Macs won’t be left behind.

With the OS look more like Mac OS, or will it pull elements from iOS? We’ve got quite a while to wait.
