I’ve talked about the ClickToFlash Plugin before. I consider it to be one of the most important Plugins for Safari. Flash is slow, insecure, bogs your machine down and robs away precious battery life. I’d hate to have Flash running on a page just for an ad of some useless UI element. That’s why ClickToFlash is so important, it only runs the Flash you allow it to.
Well, all that goodness comes in Safari Extension form now as well. It was a bit buggy at first, but seems to work very well right now. You can download it from Apple’s extension page here. Since there are so many extensions, I recommend searching for “ClickToFlash” (Command + F for Macs, Ctrl+ F for PCs). If you already have the ClickToFlash plugin, you’ll want to uninstall it before installing the extension. The extension has a few more features than the plugin, so you’ll want to check it out.
