Samsung Galaxy S5 Fingerprint Scanner Compared to iPhone 5s TouchID

Apple called their fingerprint scanner “TouchID”, because they like to give a brand name to the technologies they use in their products (such as “ClickWheel” and “Retina Display”). But there seems to be another valid reason for not calling it something as simple as a “fingerprint scanner”, and that’s because it works so much differently than other consumer fingerprint scanners that require a swipe.
